Hello, While generating a patch for more comprehensive appendix on Articulation Scripts I noticed that the \marcato and \stacatissimo scripts print 'over the top' (inside?) the staff when, for example, the \accent and \espressivo don't. Likewise \Portato also doesn't print inside the staff but \stacato and \tenuto do. Is this incorrect engraving for \marcato and/or \stacatissimo or just that those two particular marks are by convention allowed to print inside the staff? See attached. James
These all look as per Gould. It looks like the rule is that articulations with small vertical extents follow noteheads where appropriate: those with larger extents would collide with staff bars, which would be a Bad Thing.
