Do these binaries don't work only because the matching (old) version of
C stdlib for LilyPond GUB package is not installed on your FreeBSD
(this is a common issue reported several times on this list), or is
there some deeper issue?

I'm no longer responsive quickly enough to effectively accept GUB pull
requests; I'd have added nothing more than a remark that lilypond-
ancient was a GUB setup for building ancient LilyPond versions on
recent systems; given the amount on work to build current versions, I
can understand it's been removed.
