I would strongly recommend against this. MacPorts is likely to get
confused if you manually modify things under /opt/local/.

Find the directory where Homebrew stores Guile's pkg-config
configuration file, guile-3.0.pc, and use
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/that/directory/ ../configure
