volta 1 is empty because I need the first part to return to itself; i.e the A part repeating itself again. What bugs me is the "D.C. al e poi la <coda-sign>" where it could be simply put as a "D.C" (or a D.S). My hope is to be able to recreate something like this:

Why is \volta 1 empty in your MWE?  Also, I don't know what you mean by "D.C/D.S al *empty* and go to Coda".  I see "D.C. al e poi la <coda-sign>".
