I had the same problem on android.

I fixed it by using a newer version of the sdk. I used version 4.4.20. You can download it here: http://linphone.org/snapshots/xamarin/linphone-sdk-xamarin-4.4.20.zip

I had the problem described here: https://github.com/BelledonneCommunications/linphone-xamarin/issues/35

So you don’t need a newer example, only update the sdk. Change The LinphoneWrapper.cs and 

- on Android:  the .aar file 

- on iOS: the .framework folders
