Apparently part of the changes have been done already in the code to support the latest FFMpeg API since we can see in the Mediastreamer2 source code :

#cmakedefine HAVE_FUN_avcodec_encode_video2 1 

#cmakedefine HAVE_FUN_av_frame_alloc 1 

#cmakedefine HAVE_FUN_av_frame_free 1 

#cmakedefine HAVE_FUN_av_frame_unref 1 

and the impact being mapping to one or the other function :

    return avcodec_alloc_frame(); 

} 

#endif 

But there remains unresolved externals for functions that aren't mappable one-on-one like : avcodec_register_all
