Suggestion: For a designated hostname and path, could Lynx skip past a specified number of hyperlinks on a page? At that point, the user could scroll backward, if access to the skipped hyperlinks was needed, or proceed forward to read the desired text.

Lynx does have the numbered-links feature, which lets you jump around in a page.
