I disagree and assert that rel=made would imply that the current
document made the email address.  Which really just goes to show
that it's not possible to infer meaning from the word "made" itself
without reference to some standard.

It's defined, sort of, in HTML 3.2: http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html32#link
as a way of documenting existing practice.  HTML 2 doesn't define the
possible link relationships at all, and there is no HTML 1 spec, but I
remember in the very early days that HTML tutorials used to recommend
putting <link rev=made> near the top of the document.

HTML 4 silently dropped rev=made, and HTML 5 has dropped rev altogether,
creating a new rel=author link type to replace rev=made as it was the
only significant use case of the rev attribute.
