The big problem with HTML5 is that it has error recovery defined for
every syntax error. That means the average HTML5 coder is going to code
broken HTML and have it interpreted consistently by all the mainstream
browsers. Lynx's parser doesn't conform to that model, so I doubt that
it will ever be compliant with HTML5, as it won't have the mandated
error recovery behaviour.
