Is that just an example or the only one you can find?
I guess I'm a bit rusty on the POSIX specification, -C works with most
makes I know of, but of course if you're targeting other ones you might
want to change that a bit.
On the other hand, the list of tables is off (some entries are missing
in src/makefile.in but are present in src/chrtrans/makefile.in) and
target handling (which iirc is defined by POSIX the way gmake interprets
it) is definitely off the way it is now.
So, I accept it might break further for other systems (and I'd be glad
if somebody can tweak it who has access to them), but right now this
makes it much less broken for all Linux distributions I can think of.
