I am pleased to announce the release of clzip 1.4.
Clzip is a lossless data compressor based on the LZMA algorithm, with
very safe integrity checking and a user interface similar to the one of
gzip or bzip2.
Clzip uses the lzip file format; the files produced by clzip are fully
compatible with lzip-1.4 or newer. Clzip is in fact a C language version
of lzip, intended for embedded devices or systems lacking a C++ compiler.
The homepage is at http://www.nongnu.org/lzip/clzip.html
The sources can be downloaded from
http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/lzip/
The md5sums are:
d9535991e6f282a367ce74b13eced1e0 clzip-1.4.tar.lz
0b1d180852e52f251f91c9ded080efa6 clzip-1.4.tar.gz
This release is also GPG signed. You can download the signature by
appending ".sig" to the URL.
Changes in version 1.4:
* Multi-step trials have been implemented.
* Compression ratio has been slightly increased.
* Compression time has been reduced by 10%.
* Decompression time has been reduced by 8%.
* The target "install-as-lzip" has been added to the Makefile.
* The target "install-bin" has been added to the Makefile.
Please send bug reports and suggestions to address@hidden
Regards,
Antonio Diaz, clzip author and maintainer.
