I am pleased to announce the release of clzip 1.5.
Clzip is a lossless data compressor with a user interface similar to the
one of gzip or bzip2.
Clzip uses the lzip file format; the files produced by clzip are fully
compatible with lzip-1.4 or newer. Clzip is in fact a C language version
of lzip, intended for embedded devices or systems lacking a C++ compiler.
The lzip file format is designed for long-term data archiving. It is
clean, provides very safe 4 factor integrity checking, and is backed by
the recovery capabilities of lziprecover.
The homepage is at http://www.nongnu.org/lzip/clzip.html
The sources can be downloaded from
http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/lzip/
The sha1sums are:
05fad71a3dcffc9cf9dd735c000cf8e36a4213d5 clzip-1.5.tar.lz
acb7f6a8600971c2925f36cd10aba0f1f46f9c63 clzip-1.5.tar.gz
This release is also GPG signed. You can download the signature by
appending ".sig" to the URL.
Changes in version 1.5:
* Clzip now shows the progress of compression at verbosity level 2 (-vv).
* Decompressing and testing no more show file version.
* Option "-n, --threads" is now accepted and ignored for
compatibility with plzip.
* The configure script now accepts options with a separate argument.
Please send bug reports and suggestions to address@hidden
Regards,
Antonio Diaz, clzip author and maintainer.
