Hi Daniel,
Daniel Baumann wrote:
do you remember the last time we were freezing Debian unstable in order
to prepare a Debian release? You made sure that there were releases
available so I could upload them just in time before the freeze. That
way, we ended up with the latest and greatest lzip/lzip-related packages
in what later became Debian 8 (jessie).
Sure. Thank you very much for keeping me informed of Debian freezes. :-)
Now, for the next stable release which will become Debian 9 (strech),
the freeze will be January 5th, 2017.
It would be nice if you can make releases again in time, at latest a
couple of days before above date. What do you think, would you mind
"doing it" again for strech?
I was going to prepare a round of stable releases in a couple weeks, as
soon as I finish some changes to GNU ed and verify that the latest
release candidates of lzip built succesfuly in Debian and other distros.
So this time we have plenty of time.
(This is the first headsup, I would send another one in October or so,
unless you're annoyed :)
No annoyance at all. It is even possible that lzip 1.19 is out before
January of 2017. :-)
Thanks and regards,
Antonio.
