would it be possible to add a feature like xz --list and/or gzip --list also to lzip/lunzip? It's quite helpful to know in advance what space is required to unpack.
It is certainly possible to add --list to lzip, but I have not done it because it would cause portability problems on non-posix systems.
I'll see if I can implement it in a portable way (or at least disable it on non-posix systems).
BTW, --list is already implemented in lziprecover[1] and I plan to implement it in plzip because these tools already use the functions needed to implement --list.
