This is completely normal. Your firewall should allow (and forward if
necessary) traffic on the TCP port, as well as the UDP port TCP+4 to
mldonkey. What makes you say that mldonkey doesn't seem to listen on
that port? And what OS are you running mldonkey with?
'netstat -lp' should show (among other things)
tcp 0 0 *:4682 *:* LISTEN 5019/mlnet
udp 0 0 *:4686 *:* 5019/mlnet
or something similar (my edonkey tcp port is set to 4682). If not,
something is busted.
