Follow-up Comment #6, patch #4449 (project mldonkey):
I'm not too fond of checking config_files_space.tmp... What about making pid
file path a compile time option ?
Also, pid files are traditionally checked for freshness by reading the PID
they contain, and use kill -0 to check if the process exists.
Don't know if this will work on all platforms however :/
