Follow-up Comment #3, patch #4583 (project mldonkey):

Some files on $HOME/.mldonkey/cache have this content:

"Sorry, too many requests coming from your IP address. Please come back
later."

I guess you remove the feature or change it so pics are downloaded on demand.
In a state like this mlgui can´t be released.
