Details:
to avoid fragmentation support for preallocating files should be added.
recent Linux kernels support fast preallocation when the filesystem is XFS,
EXT4 or BTRFS. When the use disables the "sparse files" option files should be
created preallocated.
The attached patch adds preallocation support when posix_fallocate() is
available.
