Maybe the number 1. isn't clear enough - the word 'different' means that it could be possible to use different types of external sources (like LDAP, SQL, etc. or present plaintext file). The main goal is to allow all monit instances to be configured centrally (and to allow user to choose preffered type of configuration source).
