Monit environment PATH

Hi there,

Under the 'ENVIRONMENT' section of the monit documentation, it states:

"In addition the following spartan PATH environment variable is available:

PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin

Scripts or programs that depends on other environment variables or on a more verbose PATH must provide means to set these variables by them self."

What I have observed, is that within an executable, I must specify the absolute path if I was to invoke any shell level command. This tightly couples the executable with the environment, which is not really a flexible way of doing it.

Is there any reason why monit will not use the PATH variable defined in the shell environment for superuser? 

Does any one have any suggestions on how to get around this, so that monit can take the environment PATH variable from the shell instead?
