All,
I've seen a message posted earlier of monit segfaulting on RedHat EL4. Since
CentOs 4.4 is essentially identical, I'm wondering what the outcome of that
was. I'm using the centosplus kernel (for the reiserfs support).
Monit will always segfault on startup:
Sep 12 14:07:51 localhost monit: Starting monit daemon
Sep 12 14:07:51 localhost kernel: monit[31903]: segfault at 00000000000002b9
rip 0000003c0b470540 rsp 0000007fbffff188 error 4
Running monit through gdb kept the daemon up. But looking at the logs, I see
this:
Sep 12 14:07:51 localhost monit: monit startup succeeded
Sep 12 14:08:45 localhost kernel: monit[31913] general protection
rip:3c0b470540 rsp:7fbfffe908 error:0
 daemon at 107440 awakened 1928]: H=sH
 daemon at 107440 awakened 1931]: H=sH
Sep 12 14:16:27 localhost kernel: monit[31934]: segfault at 0000000000000076
rip 0000003c0b470540 rsp 0000007fbfffe958 error 4
Sep 12 14:16:30 localhost kernel: monit[31935]: segfault at 00000000ffffffff
rip 0000003c0b470540 rsp 0000007fbfffe528 error 4
Anyone tried monit on CentOs 64bit? This is monit 4.8. I am running monit 4.7
just fine on RedHat EL4.3.
