Monit displays "not monitored" for services it fails to start

Monit displays a status of "Unmonitored" when it cannot restart a service.  This cannot be distinguished from a service which is intentionally not unmonitored. Is it possible to display either ‘failed to restart’ or ‘timeout’ instead of ‘not monitored’?
