[monit] Configuration error

Hi Guys,

I'm getting the below error while configuring monit on linux Fedora 8, 64 bit , what could be the issue?

checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes
checking for gcc option to accept ISO C89... unsupported
