No, if I start from the commandline / console,
there is no error and monit works fine.
The port problem only happends, if I
start via init.

I try strace yesterday, but I can not
see any error in the log. Also there is no reference to the port, even
if I start from the command line and the port works well.
But it's my first strace and I'm not
sure if I read everything correct.

Try running in debug mode from the console. 'monit
-Iv -c /path/to/monitrc'. Are there any errors?
