Hello,

monit shows space which is available to all users - the filesystem has usually few percents of space (1-10%) reserved for root user only and as soon as the filesystem reach this limit, non-root users will fail to write to the filesystem even though the "df" may show some free space.

Our configuration is  as follows

check device root with path /dev/sda1
        if space usage > 70% then alert
