Delaying monitoring

Hi All,
Is there anyway to set a 'sleep' to stop monitoring for a period, eg
at the minute you can do

   if 5 restarts within 8 cycles then timeout

This will then disable monitoring until I next take action. Instead
I'd like to do something like

   If 5 restarts with 8 cycles then sleep 20 cycles

Is this, or something similar possible?
