Very late to the party, but just to add I'm with Francis on this.

I would also add that breaking with the "quit without saving" to abort
a commit seems bad to me, although not a huge thing.
But I'm sure I will fall in this trap when moving to 0.48.
Why not abort the commit simply if no text from the user found?
