Steps to reproduce the problem:

execute any command with -v --timestamps


Expected result:
----------------

verbose log output with prefixed timestamps


Actual results:
---------------

endless recursion because of debug log messages in 
src:address@hidden:monotone-0.99.1#371 and the following lines. The origin for 
these debug messages is 7cd64e925e3ee1aeb936cf8c85a648bd0b25bb27, so 0.48 is 
affected as well.
