I think you will need to provide some more info.
Precisely what do you mean by "remotely"? An ssh connection? Something
else?
What kind of system is running your local display?
I think about all we can do in this case is detect that there is insufficient
GL support and give an error. I would not expect that we can magically fix
graphics if you don't have the proper hardware or software.
But, I don't know how to detect and catch this error so we can do something
useful. Perhaps someone can point to some tips about how to handle it?
