Follow-up Comment #7, bug #34148 (project octave):
The ylabel is "right" side of each subplot which is correct.
There have been attempts to have Octave handle the font metrics for gnuplot,
but they have not been successful (to make things more complicated each
gnuplot terminal places the axis ticklabels and axis labels in slightly
different positions).
