Follow-up Comment #21, bug #39828 (project octave):

Could we please keep the discussion on the tracker?  If you send mail directly
to the mailing list it won't be archived in the tracker.  Or, if you want to
discuss on a list, please use the maintainers list.

I suspect that we will get bug reports about the wong placement of \circ no
matter what we do.  My inclination is to do what TeX does and tell people that
this is one of those things about Matlab that we don't want to copy.
