(1) Are you building Octave yourself?

(2) If not, this is likely a package management problem. Have you reported the
problem to the maintainer?

(3) Are you able to produce eps output? "print -depsc foo.eps"

(4) What is displayed by "print -depsc -debug foo.eps"
