Follow-up Comment #5, bug #37344 (project octave):

Yes, both OPENBLAS_NUM_THREADS=1 and OMP_NUM_THREADS=1 prevent the freeze.

I'm not sure if this is something Octave should be setting or not. If it does,
it should only be in GUI mode. Both plotting and solving linear equations with
openblas works fine in command-line mode.
