Follow-up Comment #4, bug #40351 (project octave):

Rik, I have just seen your post with the fix.
I have already pushed a changeset that I have pushed a changeset that fixes
the issue in the editor. Then it is also possible to create a new file when
entering the file name into the open file dialog box.
