try changing e.g.:
if cond
endif
to:
if cond
action
endif
where you move the typing cursor from the end of the "endif" keyword up one
line using the up arrow key -- you'll be stuck at the popup list.
either wait a few milliseconds after the user has stopped typing to only then
show the popup list, or require and explicit tab input to fire
auto-completion.
