Follow-up Comment #3, bug #41322 (project octave):
This works for me as well on Kubuntu 12.04.
I used
./run-octave -f --no-gui
sleep (5)
^C
and it successfully exits out of the sleep call. I used the '-f' flag to make
sure I wasn't picking up any settings from a .octaverc file which might mess
things up.
