Follow-up Comment #18:

I backported the anti-alias patch to the stable branch.  I don't know if it
will be a part of 3.8.1 or not.  We'll see.  I'm going to mark the bug as
"won't fix" since we aren't going to change the default linewidth and break
Matlab compatibility.
