Follow-up Comment #3, bug #41484 (project octave):
Your patch adds error messages that make reference to validatestring.
For example, some of the error messages now start with "validatestring: '%s'
does not match any of..." but the whole point of this function is to cause the
error in this situation so the error message should not mention it.
I suggest a look at validateattributes (from Octave core) or
validateLengthUnit (from the mapping package) for an example of what I mean.
