have something useful to say :-)

I'd say yes:
-cli -> necessary for platforms with no display or when octave was compiled
without Qt libraries
-no-gui -> when printing is no more an issue in 'qt' graphics_toolkit, this
should be the preferred one for 'make check' (maybe for the documentation
also) when octave was compiled with Qt.
