Follow-up Comment #31, bug #41699 (project octave):

Since this seems to replicate the bug reported in 42488. Here are a couple of
pertinent details

test imread;
clear all;

causes octave to crash hard.

Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated.
