Details:
I've compiled the latest development Octave so that the owner is root. Trying
to test the build from a non-root user account results in an error only when
attempting the octave-cli version of the file (the GUI version runs fine).
I've done a similar thing with past versions (hg update gui-release) and have
had no problems. Here is the command and error:
/usr/local/src/octave/octave-for_loop_test/build-dev/run-octave --no-gui-libs
/usr/bin/ld: cannot open output file
/usr/local/src/octave/octave-for_loop_test/build-dev/src/.libs/5665-lt-octave-cli:
Permission denied
