Follow-up Comment #1:

I fixed this up on the development branch in this changeset
(http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/30d8501a857a).  It will be a part
of the 4.2 release.  To get the fix sooner you can build from Mercurial
sources or just copy the setdiff.m file from Mercurial into your distribution.
