Follow-up Comment #5, bug #42867 (project octave):

I don't think it will make any di have you tried 3.8.2 release candidate?

4. works for me still - I will try WinXp today if no one else gets to it
first. 

5. Works for me. I set it as:
 c:\windows\write %f
And then double click on a file from the browser pane, and it opens up
correctly.
If you get the path incorrect, then it will not complain, which is not
optimal.

What are the editor features missing from the gui?
