Follow-up Comment #12, bug #38928 (project octave): I don't think the default pattern rule needs all the extra CPPFLAGS variables. There are lines like dldfcn/__delaunayn__.df: CPPFLAGS += $(QHULL_CPPFLAGS) in the dldfcn/module.mk file.
