Follow-up Comment #2, bug #43000 (project octave):

Thank You for looking into it.

When I first ran Octave GUI, I had got a dialog and a new settings file was
created.

Now I went to the path that you mentioned and deleted the settings file and
ran Octave GUI again and now the issue seems to have disappeared.

I am getting this message in the command window :

Warning: QObject::connect: Cannot connect
main_window::set_widget_shortcuts_signal (bool) to (null)::set_shortcuts
(bool)
