Mac OSX 10.9.4
I suspect that this is not really an Octave bug as I have seen this message
before with some other applications.
But, I am submitting it just in case something in Octave can be done to
improve "performance".

On opening Octave this appeared in the Command Window.

2014-08-26 13:04:29.579 octave-gui[19119:240b] CoreText performance note:
Client called CTFontCreateWithName() using name "Lucida Grande" and got font
with PostScript name "LucidaGrande". For best performance, only use PostScript
names when calling this API.
