Details:

See attached screen shot.

Could be a font issue, although I tried changing the command windows from
"Courier New" to "DejaVu Sans Mono" (the font I use on GNU/Linux) and it looks
essentially the smae (see 2nd screenshot).  I didn't see a way to change the
font in the editor.

Its also broken in the "cmd.exe" terminal.
