Follow-up Comment #7, bug #41828 (project octave):
I am running the experimental 3.8.2 build on Windows 7 and observed the
behavior described by the OP.
The cause of the problem is that I have a version of less.exe that got used
rather than the less.exe from Octave-3.8.2bin. I am sure lots of people have
some version of less.exe or more.exe.
Once I renamed the other version of less.exe the paging works w/o problem.
May be the Octave exe file should alter PATH so that files in bin directory
are located before other files on the PATH.
