Follow-up Comment #13, bug #43101 (project octave):
I checked in the following changeset that I think fixes the problem:

As far as I can tell, the messages were only about long double values and
Octave doesn't try to save or load values of those types, so that's probably
why there didn't seem to be any real problem other than the noisy warnings.
