In this thread "Rafael" suggested a fix that helps to get more OF packages to
install on Octave built with --enable-64.
I tried the fix in the last weeks; AFAICS it doesn't have adverse effects on
Octave on 32- and 64 bit Linux and Windows, and indeed helps to get more OF
packages building on 64-bit MinGW Octave.

I'll upload the changeset in a next post.
